This Lofrans Tigres Windlass was installed by Marc Mayo of Southern Cross Marine in Annapolis. The #25 CQR fits in pretty nicely. Shown is a Suncor jointed anchor stainless steel swivel rated to 3000 pounds. I hack sawed off the old shackle that is permanent for the CQR. There is plenty of room for the removable inner stay lever.
I needed new grates anyway since the old ones were falling apart. The starboard hole needed to be moved forward so there would be a clean drop. This was also an opportunity to have a hole in the grate directly above the scuppers - so it will be easy to keep the scuppers clean.
Marc recommended not to install foot switches, and to use a remote, so I have remote outlets in the cockpit and up at the bow.
I installed 150 feet of 1/4 inch chain- and tossed the 20 year old 5/8 inch 30 feet I had before. The 1/4 inch chain is great, much lighter, and leaves a lot of room in the chain locker. On the port side, I have 30 feet of 5/8 chain and 250 feet of anchor rode.
Just to port of the samson post is a deck wash outlet.
The pad eye aft of the post is through bolted and is for jack lines.
